A LITTLE MORE DETAIL

Just in case you are considering volunteering as crew we thought an insight into what is involved may be of interest.

We have two Levels of crew; skipper and competent crew. Every trip will have a Skipper who will ultimately be responsible for the boat and all passengers. The second crew member can be another skipper or a Competent Crew. Together they manage the boat.

Becoming crew starts with an assessment of your current knowledge and experience. We expect potential skippers to hold RYA Powerboat Level 2, higher or equivalent. (see below) However we appreciate PBL2 can be achieved on a variety of different craft so we have a detailed training / familiarisation package which any new crew member will complete. Depending on experience and confidence the whole process can be achieved in a just a few sessions.

We also expect every new member of our team to understand our safeguarding and risk assessment policies and we have a simple process of achieving this.

You will understand, your position as crew ultimately comes down to sign off by the accountable member of our management team.

We really want you to join our team so help and encouragement will be forthcoming throughout.

So why not give us a call and fix a try out trip.
